インターネット考古学シリーズ第5回。おじいちゃんの「丁であれ」の思想を理解するために、それができなかった人間＝父（半端な人間）の行動を見る。国道の角地にユンボで金魚の池を掘り、4億円の土地をバブル崩壊前に売らず、作りかけのヨットを3回放置し、娘の言葉を自分の夢として語った父。その対極に、聞いて推論して自分の持ち物で応えて選択権を残す「丁の人間」たちがいる。知識を持つことと使えることの差、放流と放置の差、託すと押し付けの差。すべての分岐点は「誰かを助けたいという願い」が根にあるか「俺が凄いと言われたい」が根にあるかで決まる。
